What do I need to complete to assist my team as a Sports Trainer?
There are currently four different levels of Sports Trainer across rugby league:
- LeagueSafe - this is the minimum accreditation required in order to enter the field of play. The free online LeagueSafe course can be accessed here.
- League First Aid - this course qualifies a person to act as a First Responder on game days across age groups between U6s and U15s. Courses consist of 2 online modules and 8 hours Face to Face training. Local courses can be found on the NRL
Learning Centre.
- Level 1 Sports Trainer - educates participants on the basic principles of first aid, sports injury management and sports injury prevention. The Level 1 course will qualify participants to act in the role of First Responder for all age groups on game
day in the community Rugby League in accordance with the NRL On-Field Policy.
- Level 2 Sports Trainer - These courses are targeted primarily towards trainers working under the Performance On-Field Policy.
