Wallaby Tales #13 – Congratulations U10 Maroons

ClubNews
Congratulations U10 Maroons! Over the weekend our Juniors were competing in semi final football of their respective competitions. At Storey Park, our U10 Maroons were playing in a grand final qualifier against Asquith to decide who went straight through to the grand final. At half time the team was down 16-12 with everything to fight for. The second half was more of the same with Asquith holding a 28-24 lead through to the dying seconds of the game when Cody Morris scored on the hooter to lock the scores at 28-28. With everything on the line Adam Bovis lined up the kick, and whilst the Berowra supporters at Storey collectively held their breathes, calmly slotted the ball between the sticks to kick the team into a second GF in as…

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Men Of League Foundation fundraiser at Warrina Street two weeks ago. As a club we helped raise more than $2500 to assist the MOL in their cause. Secondly, congratulations to our U7 player Max Halbedl who scored his first ever try for the Wallabies over the weekend playing against Willoughby Roos Gold. Well done Max! Competition update We are now down to the back end of the 2017 season. Tell me where the season has gone? For some of our teams the season is over and its time to rest up and plan for next season. For the rest training is on again this week. Our U14 team finished out the final game of their 2017 campaign at home…

One Club, One Team – Club Training Night

Tuesday night Warrina St was swamped with a mob of junior wallabies to take part in our club training night. Players from u6's through to u14's were put through their paces by Ross Hoye and our A'Grade and C'Grade players and coaches. From the sidelines we're not sure who was having more fun, the juniors or our senior players. We've posted a few of the shots from the evening below. ClubNews
Well there's lots been going on behind the scenes and we've lapsed on our regular Wallaby Tales...but we are back! New Lights at Warrina St It's taken a lot of planning but as part of the upgrade program to Warrina Street the new lights at the Oval have been installed and as of the end of June are operational. For normal training it will be 50lux, which will be two lights per pole. (The two outside lights) and for ‘Match Play’ lighting it will be 100lux, which will be three lights per pole. For anyone that was down at Warrina Street when they were first turned on there was a big improvement on the lighting coverage. This Saturday we get a chance to see the match play lighting in action when A' Grade…

What a fantastic weekend of footy! We hope everyone had a great day celebrating 50 years of rugby league in Berowra on Saturday at Warrina Street enjoying the carnival games and eight games of league played, culminating in our A'Grade side beating Avalon to head into the long weekend top of the table! Then Sunday our C'Grade team picked up where A' Grade left off and enjoyed their first victory of the season proper at Storey Park against the Enfield Federals. Junior Appreciation Round March Friday night our junior players had an opportunity to march around ANZ Stadium at Homebush prior to the South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Parramatta Eels game. It was a fantastic night with 25 of our players marching and enjoying watching the game with their families; although a few of our representatives including our club secretary might argue that the game result was less than fantastic! [ngg_images source="galleries" container_ids="14" display_type="photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails" override_thumbnail_settings="0" thumbnail_width="240" thumbnail_height="160" thumbnail_crop="1" images_per_page="20" number_of_columns="0" ajax_pagination="0" show_all_in_lightbox="0" use_imagebrowser_effect="0" show_slideshow_link="1" slideshow_link_text="[Show slideshow]" order_by="filename" order_direction="ASC" returns="included" maximum_entity_count="500"] U9 vs Hills Hawks U9 team went down to the Hills Hawks 26-16.  Whilst it was another loss the gap was much smaller than their last game against the Hawks, so improvements are being seen on the field, and despite some impressive…
